Hollow Hills Elementary School is a fundamental magnet school. Meaning, we draw from all over Simi Valley. The only requirement for your child to attend Hollow Hills is to be a Simi Valley resident. It starts with a lottery for Kindergarten. We get anywhere from 60 to 150 lottery applications each year and usually have about 35 to 50 openings. We hold our lottery the first 2 weeks of February each year. But it is best to call our office in January of the year your child will start Kindergarten to get the exact dates.

The students who do not make it into the lottery will be placed on our waiting list. The list moves up to 1st grade, 2nd grade, and so on until your child gets called for an opening. We send out a letter every January asking parents to return a postcard stating if they want to stay on the waiting list or not.

If your child is currently in another school, you can complete an application at any time to put your child on one of our waiting lists. You must be a Simi Valley resident to apply to Hollow Hills. The application can be picked up in our office between 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The enrollment/lottery process closes the first day of school and all students wanting to enroll at Hollow Hills after the first day of school will be placed on the waiting list for the next year.
